Dependent people and social inclusion
Since 2008 SAMU has opened up its scope of operations to providing care for disabled persons through social and medical centres.
Caring for disabled persons has the mission of contributing the necessary support to persons with physical, intellectual and sensory functional diversity, converting the care area into a safe place in which to work on the necessary aspects for their personal and social development, based on the principle of respect for people’s rights.
By applying educational, occupational, leisure and sport techniques and strategies, the multidisciplinary team is the vehicle through which the person can achieve their goals and learn to overcome obstacles in their search for real and effective inclusion, in which the visibility of the group and community participation constitute a cornerstone of social awareness.
